Below Deck Med’s Malia White in hospital after horror scooter crash
The Below Deck Mediterranean star Malia White has revealed that she was hospitalized with severed injuries following a motorcycle accident.
The 30-year-old stunned fans when she took to Instagram on Wednesday (June 30) with a pair of surprise posts before and after she documented her near-death experience.
In the first post, she shared an image of herself sitting comfortably on a blue scooter while enjoying the beautiful scenery in Mallorca, Spain.
However, things clearly took a turn for the worse when the Bravo star later posted a picture of her bruised and bandaged on her hospital bed.
‘AFTER: on Instagram we often share pretty things but here’s the important one – I’m sharing this to show how important it is to always wear a helmet,’ she explains. ‘My truth has saved my life.’
She continued: ‘I spent the premiere night in my hospital bed after being in a bad accident on my scooter.’
‘I’ve ridden scooters all my life, I’m used to the device, don’t drink and are 10 minutes from my boat. Accidents happen when you least expect them. ‘
The star added: ‘Luckily I was able to walk again with a few stitches, broken elbows, broken toes, severe stretch marks and a lot of body pain.
‘I don’t want to imagine what the case would have been without my helmet!’
‘I won’t hook up my scooter keys…but I’m definitely aware of the importance of traveling safely! 🛵🤕,’ she concluded, along with the hashtags # #scooteraccident #ridesafe #alwayswearahelmet #bruisedup #lucky.
On her Instagram Story, the reality TV star also expressed gratitude to the crew members who helped her on the night of the accident.
“Thanks to my crew members for being there that night,” she wrote above a group photo. ‘They flagged a vehicle that happened to be a police officer leaving work and he began to give me medical care until the ambulance arrived. They also took care of organizing all my furniture and scooters! ‘
