90 Day Fiancé Exclusive: Michael Speaks On His Wife Angela’s 90 Pound Weight Loss & Their Long-Distance Marriage

Fiancé in 90 Days: Happily Forever? will include one of TLC’s most recognizable May-December pairs, Michael and Angela. After getting married in Nigeria, the two are unfortunately still separated with Angela returning home to the US and Michael still in Africa waiting for a Visa.

After their wedding, Angela endured the loss of her mother and struggled to cope with the pain and stress of the pandemic without the help of her 32-year-old.

Angela, 54, found herself moving towards a healthier lifestyle for her grandchildren and for her husband, so she took desperate measures despite Michael’s strong objections. As previously reported Angela underwent weight loss surgery to lose 90 pounds and underwent five surgeries in one day; gastrectomy, breast reduction, liposuction and two other surgeries to repair a hernia inside her body.

Now much slimmer, Angela focuses on her health. However, for Michael, the desire to have children has always been his top priority.

BOSSIP had a short chat with Michael before Sunday Fiancé in 90 Days: Happily Forever? premiere.

Michael talks about his long marriage, the reaction of his often critical friends and his family planning with his skinny wife and parents.

What is your favorite memory from your wedding with Angela?

My favorite memory is when we exchanged vows and also when my family danced with her. It gave me so much joy and happiness.

What is married life like, especially when you and Angela still live so far apart?

It hasn’t been easy, but with God by our side, we are coping.

What do you like most about being a husband?

I have more respect from family and friends.

What do your friends think of you as a married man?

They’re still a bit surprised about it, they wonder if this is real (laughs). I am a married man! (laugh)

You and Angela have talked before about her daughter’s surrogate mother, do you two still hope to have children?

You will have to wait and see.

What do you think about your wife’s weight loss surgery? She looks great but I see that Angela said you were not satisfied at first?

I wasn’t happy with it at first, but you’ll see it play out in the show.

Interestingly, even though Michael seems happy in his marriage and “faces God” to weather the storm, Angela recently said Tonight’s reception that at one point she considered pulling the strings for their marriage.

“I definitely talked to a lawyer,” she said when asked if she was ever contemplating a divorce. I said, ‘I’m not going to put up with this. If I had dealt with this with him all the way there, what would it have been like here? ‘”

Angela describes the first year of their marriage as “hell” and said viewers will see it on this season of the show. Fiancé in 90 Days: Happily Forever?.

“But at one point, I said to Michael, ‘Somehow you’ve changed since we got married and we haven’t even lived together. Like, don’t take it for granted because there’s always a damn divorce court nearby,” she said she told him at one point. “I mean, we went to hell. We literally went to hell and it was terrible, and you will see it.”

LORD. Looks like there’s still trouble ahead for these two. We for one, be SHOCKED.
